Sapna Krishnan started her journey with Bharatantyam at the age of 5 under the able tutelage of Late Sri Natanam Shivapalan Master. As an accomplished dancer and a devoted guru, Sapna Krishnan brings her own unique sensibility and individuality to Bharatanatyam through her approach to teaching and choreography. Students learn various aspects and nuances of Bharatanatyam with emphasis given to purity and the rich traditions of the ancient dance form.

In the year 2004, Sapna founded Lasya School of Dance in Shrewsbury, MA. The school is now an established dance institution in the New England area. As the Artistic Director of Lasya School of Dance, Sapna with her proficiency in abhinaya and choreography, strives to impart knowledge of the pure dance form wih an emphasis to devotion, grace, crisp footwork and beauty of expression to all her students.

Sapna's passion and love for dance and choreography has taken her beyond teaching to meaningfully contribute towards noble causes. Over the past few years, Sapna has led several fund raising initiatives through dance performances and school productions for NGOs such as Akshayapatra Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Society, DPD Deficiency Foundation, Vision Aid Inc, Pancreatic Cancer Care and Research program at UMass, POP group in Connecticut, Atma Vidya Ashram in Bangalore and recently for Cancer Institute Foundation (CIF)

In 2014, Sapna directed, choreographed and presented to New England audience, a thematic Bharatanatyam dance ballet, "Maya Madhavam" with over 70 Dancers, all students of Lasya School of Dance. Sapna is also a receipient of "Lokvani Spotlight on Excellence" award for Dance and India New England magazines's "Outstanding Woman" award in Danace. Recently, Sapna was also honored with "Best Creative Director" award at the FoundationTV Red Carpet award ceremony.
